Customer Training - an integral part of Vaisala’s services

For more than 50 years, empowering users of Vaisala's systems and sensors with the most current and best available knowledge and skills has been an essential objective of the company. Professor Vilho Väisälä, founder of Vaisala, was very well aware of the importance of customer training, and the first actual training engineer joined the company as early as in 1955. Ever since then, a comprehensive set of customer training courses has been offered to operators and maintenance personnel of our products.

Customer training is conducted both at Vaisala Training Center located in Helsinki, Finland, as well as on selected international offices and customer installation sites around the world. On an annual basis, about  one hundred courses and 1500 trainee days are completed with two-thirds of the trainee days commencing in Helsinki.

Training course contents are organized as modular packages that have a well defined, thoroughly investigated and constantly updated content and layout. Training courses comprise lessons on measurement theory and working principles of equipment as well as practical hands-on training on the actual equipment and system software. Trainee assignments focus on troubleshooting and maintenance tasks on least replaceable unit level.

Towards the end of year 2002, a significant investment will be made into the physical learning environment of the Vaisala Training Center in Helsinki. The training facilities will be renovated to correspond to the requirements of modern ways of effective learning. We hope that this, together with a revised and improved training approach, will benefit our customers and boost their success in the years to come.
